We started off with food of course, but I have decided that I am not going to promote or support Disneyland's attempts at price gouging its customers in the future! They mark up everything they sell. For instance, they sell a water bottle for $3.50. Let's put this into perspective: Sixteen ounces of water at Disneyland costs about the same as 3 bean burritos from Taco Bell, or 1 6-inch sub from Subway, or 1 pack of socks from Target, or 2 cans of hairspray from CVS, or 2 packs of ball point pens from ANYWHERE! If you buy a water bottle from Disneyland in the future... I have nothing to say to you.
Ok, sorry about the rampage. We then proceeded to go on every fun ride at Disneyland! Matterhorn, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Autopia, Astro Blasters, Indiana Jones, and Nemo! I lost my voice that day from screaming on the fast rides.
Finally, one of the highlights was getting invited to ride up in the crow's nest on the the huge ferry boat that circles the park! Woo hooo! While we were up there I tried to get the "ferry-boat-man" to divulge all of the Disneyland secrets. He did! Here are a few!
1. On every ride in the park there is a "Hidden Mickey." However, on the ferry ride, the only way to find the "Hidden Mickey" is if you are up in the crow's nest (because of the aerial view you have). You have to look over the edge, and there are 3 rocks in the river that form the shape of a Mickey head!
2. Contrary to popular belief, there are NO hidden tunnels beneath Disneyland.
3. The river that the ferry boat floats on is 22 to 28.5 feet deep in some places... and yes, some people have drowned in it.
That last secret made me sad, so I stopped asking him questions. :(By the end of the night, I was exhausted from a long day of walking around, riding on rides, and dodging crazy children... but I must say - Disneyland is really one of the happiest places on earth!
wait, what was the last secret?
